This past October, I had the pleasure of attending the NOMA Conference in Houston, Texas. The conference was packed with seminars, keynote speakers, volunteer activities, and networking events that allowed me to expand my knowledge as a designer and share my experience with my firm. After the conference, I was invited to be a guest author for the IKM Blog. The writing experience gave me the opportunity to reflect on my trip as well as the state of the profession. Minorities still make up a small percentage of registered architects and I think we can all help change that.
… African American men make up 1.5% of Architects and African American Women make up only 0.3% of Architects in the US.
Although these statistics are astonishing, this isn’t a new problem. To learn more and read the full article, visit ikminc.com.
