Something About Me
Alicia graduated from Florida A & M University at the height of the recession when positions in Architecture were scarce. She spent over two years working in life insurance before enrolling in the UDREAM Fellowship at Carnegie Mellon University which led her to Pittsburgh in 2011. The fellowship provided an opportunity to intern with Cannon Design and she accepted a full-time position with Massaro Construction Management Services later that fall.
Alicia’s career path has provided unique opportunities to learn the in’s and out’s of the construction industry and the complexities of the Design-Build delivery method. The experiences were invaluable, but her love of Architecture led her back to design in 2015. Alicia Volcy is the owner and founder of Studio Volcy, a multidisciplinary design and real estate development studio. She has developed several years of experience as a designer, project manager, thought leader and advocate for minority communities and small businesses owners.
In her free time, she’s most likely cooking, restaurant hopping or traveling with her husband, Riccardy.
